ABOUT THE GAME

This game is a continuation of my Ludum Dare 40 Game Jam submission.

In the LD40 game, you play a wanted criminal on the run from the police. The twist is that in order to gain score, you need to stay within the gun sights of the police as much as possible while evading bullets.

For this new version, I'm shifting the setting to a cyberpunk universe based on my long term game project. The story is currently being developed along with new gameplay and a presentation overhaul.

DEVELOPMENT

Unity game engine, Modo, Audacity

Fun fact: The location is based on Eko Atlantic City in Lagos, Nigeria, a new coastal city built on reclaimed land that is still largely undeveloped as of 2023. The tile patterns of the coastal walkway are evocative of the real thing (based off internet photos, since I've never been there personally)

Why there? Africa has a youthful population (median age of about 19, compared to the aging population of the west which is about 40 and the rest of the world at 30+), abundant natural resources, and lots of uncultivated arable land. These facts, along with an existing but yet unfinished modern megacity designed for the future, protected by an advanced artificial sea wall against coastal erosion, is fertile setting for futuristic speculative fiction.
